An update for rear is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

Relax-and-Recover is a recovery and system migration utility. The utility produces a bootable image and restores from backup using this image. It allows to restore to different hardware and can therefore be also used as a migration utility.

Users of rear are advised to upgrade to these updated packages.

  • BZ - 1462189 - ReaR cannot create ISO images larger than 4GB due to Red Hat change that removes mkisofs
  • BZ - 1631183 - Backup using tar always succeeds, even in case of tar error
  • BZ - 1652853 - Netbackup restore not functional anymore
  • BZ - 1653214 - Record permanent mac address when device is enslaved in a bond, or else /etc/mac-addresses will record broken information
  • BZ - 1655956 - Automatically exclude $BUILD_DIR from the backup
  • BZ - 1659137 - ReaR doesn't restore the network configuration when custom interface naming is used
  • BZ - 1672938 - ReaR unable to create the Rescue ISO when having a lot of multipath devices
  • BZ - 1685166 - Record permanent mac address when device is enslaved in a team, or else /etc/mac-addresses will record broken information
