Topic
Updated gdeploy packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements
are now available for Red Hat Gluster Storage 3.4 Update 2.
Description
gdeploy is a tool which automates the process of creating, formatting, and mounting bricks. When setting up a fresh cluster, gdeploy could be the preferred choice of cluster set up, as manually executing numerous commands can be error-prone. The advantages of using gdeploy include automated brick creation, flexibility in choosing the drives to configure (sd, vd,etc.), and flexibility in naming the logical volumes (LV) and volume groups(VG).
This update addresses the following bugs:
- Previously, non-VDO devices failed to mount due to mount options specific to VDO. This update ensures that the mount options are set appropriately for VDO and non-VDO disks leading to a successful mount. (BZ#1649509)
- Previously, VDO service failed to start due to mishandling by systemd. On rebooting a host added to a hyperconverged environment, the host is marked nonresponsive in the user interface as VDSM services failed to start. This update adds additional mount options which leads to a successful mount and VDSM services are started without any failure. (BZ#1654584)
- Previously, block zeroing was not skipped while creating thinlvs which impacted system performance. With this update, the --zero n option is set while creating thin logical volumes which leads to performance improvement. (BZ#1654996)
Users of gdeploy with Red Hat Gluster Storage are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs and adds these enhancements.
