Updated autofs packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Description
The autofs utility controls the operation of the automount daemon. The daemon automatically mounts file systems when in use and unmounts them when they are not busy.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, autofs did not hold a lock long enough during a master map re-read. Additionally, autofs unnecessarily took a lock for map read operations. As a consequence, the original lookup failed to complete, and autofs did not respond. This update corrects the locking of the master map and map read operations. As a result, autofs no longer hangs due to map dependencies. (BZ#1501922)
Users of autofs are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
