Topic

Updated resource-agents packages that fix two bugs and add various enhancements are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The resource-agents packages provide the Pacemaker and RGManager service managers with a set of scripts that interface with several services in order to allow operating in a high availability (HA) environment.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Prior to this update, a Galera cluster in certain circumstances became unsynchronized without displaying any error messages. Consequently, the nodes on the cluster replicated successfully, but the data was not identical. This update adjusts resource-agents to no longer use "read-only" mode with Galera clusters, which ensures that these clusters do not silently fail to synchronize. (BZ#1170376)
• When a cluster node fails, the /var/lib/redis/dump.rdb database file in some cases can be set to 0 bytes. Previously, when this happened, the Redis daemon did not start. This update ensures that in the described situation, the Redis resource agent automatically clears the corrupted database file and resynchronizes the remaining Redis instances in the cluster. As a result, Redis starts as expected. (BZ#1231032)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancements:

• This update adds support for the IBM DB2 resource agents for driving and managing the IBM DB2 agent as a cluster resource in high availability (HA) environments. (BZ#1059988)
• With this update, support for VLAN management resource agents has been added for configuring and monitoring VLAN interfaces in a cluster environment. (BZ#1160365)
• This update adds support for nignx resource agent providing the ability to manage the nginx web server in a high availability environment. (BZ#1183136)
• This update introduces the rabbitmq-cluster resource agent for managing clustered RabbitMQ instances with the Pacemaker cluster manager. (BZ#1184280)
• This update introduces the redis resource agent for managing redis master slave instances with the Pacemaker cluster manager. (BZ#1189187)
• This update adds NovaCompute resource agent that is used in OpenStack environments to provide Instance HA feature. See https://access.redhat.com/articles/1544823 for more information. (BZ#1214360)
• The Logical Volume Manager (LVM) resource agent now supports RAID1, RAID3, RAID4, RAID5, and RAID6 LVM volumes. (BZ#1214781)
• This update adds support for the Oracle DataBase 12c as a cluster resource in high availability environments. (BZ#1232376)
• This update adds resource agents that enable automated SAP HANA System Replication. (BZ#1244827)
• In order to support authenticated communication between Redis and its clients, the Redis resource agent now supports client password communication by auto-detecting the settings from Redis configuration file. (BZ#1251484)

Users of resource-agents are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add these enhancements.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
