Topic

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager 3.5.5 is now available.

Description

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager is a visual tool for centrally
managing collections of virtual servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux
and Microsoft Windows. This package also includes the Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization Manager API, a set of scriptable commands that give
administrators the ability to perform queries and operations on Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization Manager.

The Manager is a JBoss Application Server application that provides several
interfaces through which the virtual environment can be accessed and interacted
with, including an Administration Portal, a User Portal, and a Representational
State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API).

Bug fixes and enhancements with this update include:

Changes to the ovirt-engine-backend component:

  • Live merge now automatically extends the base volume for instances in which a

raw, preallocated disk's snapshots have been extended beyond their original disk
capacity. This makes it possible for the contents of a snapshot to be merged
into the base disk even when the snapshot's parent is the smaller base disk that
was not extended beyond the original disk capacity. (BZ#1241433)

Changes to the ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal component:

  • The German translation of the Administration Portal and the User Portal has

been thoroughly reviewed and greatly improved. (BZ#1218706)
