Updated Satellite 6.1 packages that fix several bugs are now available.

Description

Red Hat Satellite is a system management solution that allows organizations
to configure and maintain their systems without needing to provide public
Internet access to their servers or other client systems. It performs
provisioning and configuration management of predefined standard operating
environments.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Users of hiera were no longer able to use the kt_env parameter (BZ #1256364). This parameter has been re-added.
• Users of docker version 1.7.1 were having issues with Satellite 6.1 (BZ #1253422, #1206679). Satellite has been updated to support this version of docker.
• Systems checking in via puppet were not configured to use the correct operating system (BZ #1251041). The connection is now made correctly.
• Duplicate content views were showing up in the UI (BZ #1250716). This UI issue has been corrected.
• A rake admin task consumed too much memory (BZ #1250570). Some of the tasks are now done in the database to save memory.
• The upgrade failed due to an issue with a pid file for mongo (BZ #1248663). The installer has been updated to handle the issue.
• Global parameetrs with a dot (.) in the name caused UI errors (BZ #1247798). This UI issue has been corrected.
• Users with enough subscriptions were seeing "no enough subscriptions" errors or timeouts (BZ #1247242, #1207126). This was due to concurrent subscription requests. The susbcription engine was updated to handle these concurrent requests.
• Users who enabled compute resources and locations were seeing a database error during host creation (BZ #1246839). The database query was made more specific to that this use case will work.
• Debugging errata synchronization issues during 6.0 caused issues during upgrade (BZ #1246667). The reindex process was improved to handle bad data due to 6.0 issues.

• The API did not support searching for a task based on a parent id (BZ #1244904). This API was updated to support this feature.
• It was not possible to se the server type for an ldap sevrer via hammer (BZ #1236216). Hammer and the API have been updated to support this.
• The Puppet import dropdown was not visible in the UI (BZ #1232363). This UI issue has been corrected.
• Users were not able to bulk delete hosts (BZ #1232013). This feature has been fixed to handle cases where hosts belong to an org, or do not.
• Importing orgs failed with utf-8 encoded names (BZ #1226981). The import process was fixed to support these names.
• Users could not discover repositories with custom products (BZ #1225740). This feature is now working.
• Users were not able to remove NIC or volume data from compute profiles (BZ #1225348). The code has been fixed to allow this.
• The katello-service list command was removed for RHEL7 builds (BZ #1213382). This command has been added back.
• Non admin users were not able to register hosts (BZ #1199408). The permission checking was fixed to allow this.
• The satellite version was not collected by the foreman-debug command (BZ #1191584). The tool was updated to collect this data.
• Users were able to delete content views which were contained in composite content views (BZ #1182481). The code was updated to not allow this to occur.

Users of Red Hat Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which fix these bugs.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

To update this system to include these fixes ensure your system has access to the latest Red Hat packages:

then run:

# yum update

and re-run the installer to complete the upgrade:

# katello-installer --upgrade
