  • RHEL9.1 - No init.d by default?

    Posted on

9.1 Basic Server install type, and there is no init.d directory under /etc - is the new normal?

I have RHEL8 hosts and they do have this directory.

Noticed the issue as I was installing a splunk agent and for it to boot at start you issue

    /opt/splunkforwarder/bin/splunk enable boot-start
Can't create RC file "/etc/init.d/splunk": No such file or directory
