  • RHEL 7 to Windows 10 multicast

    Posted on

We are building a system with an RHEL 7 Workstation that provides video to Windows 10 clients. A request is sent by the clients to RHEL using multicast UDP. Everything is configured with static IP addresses, and the LAN is connected through a managed switch. While the Windows systems and RHEL workstation can ping each other, the workstation is not accepting the multicast UDP request. The application is failing with a cannot connect message. Multicast is enabled on the NIC connection. I tried reconfiguring the port and even added a static link-layer multicast address. Are there any other things I can try to troubleshoot this?
