Which packages are associated with each 'Additional software' presented in the SOFTWARE SELECTION screen during install

Latest response

Hello,

I am trying to join my new RHEL system to an AD domain during install time. Realm requires the following packages:

required-package: oddjob
required-package: oddjob-mkhomedir
required-package: sssd
required-package: adcli
required-package: samba-common-tools

I was wondering if there was a list of all packages associated with each individual "Additional software for Selected Environment" (i.e. "Server with GUI") presented in the "SOFTWARE SELECTION" window during install.

I am able to perform the installation (& domain join) successfully with the following software selected:

- Windows File Server
- System Tools

That being said, there are other recommended packages such as 'krb5-workstation' that I would very much like to associate with the proper 'Software' during install. As such, it would be great if I could get the list of each package(s) associated with each software selection.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry,

You can use the dnf group info command ... below you see an example.
This can only be done on an existing system of course - not in Anaconda. :)

$ sudo dnf group info "System Tools"
Updating Subscription Management repositories.
