Image Registry Behavior with emptyDir

For my dev environments I have been looking at using the emptyDir config for the Image registry as I am using OCP 4.5 with VMware UPI. From reading it seems that if the node reboots this is lost for that node. My question though is if it is rebuilt from one of the other nodes upon reboot?
