Does RDS support password modification on chain-on-update?

Hi,

I setup a small test LAB with two RDS servers a master and a slave.
Then I configured the replication and it worked.
Then I configured chain-on-update.
When I modify a user attribute like sn or givenname from the slave server, the modification is chained to the master and updated.
But changing the userPassword attribute didn't work. I tried with ldampodify using clear and hashed password no luck. And I tried with ldappasswd and it didn't work too.
Is modifying user password is supported on chain-on-update?
