sssd.conf ldap

I am reading
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html-single/system-level_authentication_guide/#Configuring_Domains-Configuring_a_Native_LDAP_Domain

In point 6 we can see start_tls being enabled. At the same time the ldap server's uri changed from ldap:// to ldaps://.

From my understanding start_tls is only required for a ldap:// server but not for ldaps:://.

So is this a bug in the documentation or am I getting something wrong?
