How to check EUS details in RHEL machine

Latest response

Hello Experts,

I need your advice to find a way to check EUS version on RHEL machine. We are having 6.7 EUS version on our system but didnt figure out how to differentiate it from 6.7 Base version.

Below are output from system:

[root@test00 ]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.7 (Santiago)
[root@test00 ]# uname -a
Linux test00 2.6.32-573.48.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Sep 21 11:19:32 EDT 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Reference from https://access.redhat.com/articles/rhel-eus

In Red Hat Network, for example, the EUS channel associated with the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.5 (for the AMD64 architecture) is referred to as Red Hat Enterprise Linux EUS Server (v. 6.5.z for 64 -bit x86_64).

But if you see above there is no z in the release name.

Pranav, that is referring to the repository channel that you would be subscribed to. You could run 'subscription-manager repos --list-enabled' to see to which are all the repos which are enabled for you.

Hi, we are not connected to any repo channel as system is not connected to public network As you said its the repository channel, then the statement "Each minor release of a major Red Hat Enterprise Linux version has an associated EUS channel, and EUS channel version numbers always end with a z" is applicable for channel but not for the RHEL version on the system?

[root@test00~]# subscription-manager repos --list-enabled Network error, unable to connect to server. Please see /var/log/rhsm/rhsm.log for more information.

Yes, that is what even I think so. It is applicable to repo channels that would be available for your system. Check this article for more details https://access.redhat.com/articles/rhel-eus

Hi Pranav,

uname -a does not show you the RHEL release, it shows you the kernel release.

cat /etc/redhat-release shows the OS release.
