The Satellite host itself is listed under All Hosts, is that OK?
When configuring a Satellite host (server) the internal capsule is created by default.
The Satellite host is listed under All Hosts, including its Puppet environment.
Is this the alter ego of the Satellite host, as it is also a Capsule?
Responses
Hello
The base system for the Satellite Server, and the base system for an external Capsule Server, are hosts that can be managed just like any other host. So they can appear in the places you would expect to see hosts.
The base system, on which the "Satellite Server" application is installed, which includes the integrated Capsule, can be managed by the Red Hat Satellite Server application. So, at first it seems that the Satellite Server is managing itself, but its the system underneath that is being managed. It is the base system, not the "Satellite Server" application or Capsule that you are seeing. The terminology makes it a little hard to grasp at first.
