How to set the VGA console text resolution to 80x25 in RHEL 6 and RHEL 7
Issue
- How do I make the text console to be 80x25 rather than the higher resolution which RHEL 6 and RHEL 7 use by default? This is necessary for the remote management features used in certain blade chassis.
- Adding
append vga=normalto the PXE options does not appear to change the resolution.
