RHEL 9: When system RTC is far future, systemd rewinds system clock to build time.

Issue

  • When system RTC is configured as far future (ex. 2039-04-23 09:45), system clock is updated as build time (ex. 2024-03-18 09:01) after system boot. And following log appears.

    systemd[1]: System time is further ahead than 15y after build time, resetting clock to build time.
