satellite-sync gives the error "This server is not an entitled Satellite"

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Cannot sync Satellite server - no satellite channel available

  • Satellite sync gives below error:

    [root@satellite-fqdn ~]# /usr/bin/satellite-sync 
10:37:01 Red Hat Network Satellite - live synchronization 
10:37:01    url: https://satellite.rhn.redhat.com 
10:37:01    debug/output level: 1 
10:37:02    --- This server is not an entitled satellite.

  • Satellite is not registered as a "Satellite" server on Red Hat Network. How do I correct it ?

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 5.3, 5.4, 5.5,5.6
