There is a delay during boot when the rpc-statd.service is starting causing the first nfs mounts to take long time
Issue
- Within
/etc/fstabI have a NFS mount (/mnt). When I boot the server, the boot process hangs for a while (~45 seconds) at the mount for this NFS share with messages:
A start job is running for NFS status monitor for NFSv2/3 locking`
A start job is running for NFS /mnt
- Boot with NFS mount point in
/etc/fstabtakes a long time whennfsvers=3is set as mount option. - Mounting an NFS share following reboot takes exactly 1 minute to start:
# time mount -t nfs -o vers=3 example.com:/share /mnt/nfs
