What does Red Hat certified and partner validated mean?
Our partner community can solve customer challenges, build integrated solutions, and establish & grow trusted relationships—all built around Red Hat’s world-leading, enterprise open source platforms. In support of this community and customers, Red Hat has developed certifications to evaluate these offerings for functionality, interoperability, lifecycle management, security and support requirements.
Our partners create both Red Hat certified and partner validated offerings. These offerings are listed in the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog where our customers can find the right offering for their needs.
A Red Hat certified product has been tested according to criteria established by Red Hat
Red Hat certified products are tested and supported collaboratively with our partners. Certified products meet both our Partner’s criteria for their own product as well as meeting Red Hat’s criteria. Red Hat’s criteria includes functionality, interoperability, lifecycle management, security and support requirements.
Red Hat certifies products at the request of Partners who have adopted Red Hat’s criteria as part of their product practices. Certifications are awarded to a specific version range of both the Partner product and the Red Hat product in combination. The criteria for a specific certification is based on the overlap of the componentry and features within that combination.
Red Hat platforms use open source technologies and Red Hat encourages but does not require our partners to adopt the same technologies for their offerings to be Red Hat Certified. Detailed information about Red Hat’s criteria for certifications can be found on the Red Hat Documentation site in the Cloud Certification, Hardware Certification, and Software Certification pages.
Certifications are published in the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog. A page dedicated to the Partner’s product will provide product information, support information, resources for the partner’s product, and the lists of certifications awarded. The lists will include the certified version combinations as well as the components and features covered by the certification. Links to Red Hat Knowledgebase articles may also be provided for clarity on any special notes or limitations as well as how-to’s for avoiding and/or resolving complications.
Red Hat supports customers using certified products jointly with our ecosystem partners following the Red Hat Collaborative Support Process.
