Disk Device sda is 100% busy
Issue
Following a reboot, found sda utilization is always 100%.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 update 5, kernel version 2.6.9-55.ELsmp
- Dell PowerEdge/2950 server with Perc 6/i storage controller
- two internal Seagate sas drives in raid1 mirror configuration (sda)
- assorted (standard) logical volumes using sda as sole physical volume
- external FC raid connected via Qlogic FC HBAs
