Is it recommended to delete data and tmp directory before every restart of EAP 6 ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • For every restart of EAP 6, do Redhat recommend to delete data and tmp folders? What is the best practice?
  • We are wondering about the following directories. When restarting a server, does it make sense to remove these directories? Are there any pros/cons to doing so?
sudo rm -rv /jboss/domain/servers/*
sudo rm -rv /jboss/domain/tmp/servers/*
sudo rm -rv /jboss/domain/data/servers/*
sudo rm -rv /jboss/domain/data/content/*

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x
