How can the default version of NFS be set via the NFS client?

Issue

  • How to set the default version of NFS, so the client will use a lower version.
  • With 7.4 NFS 4.1 is defaulted, I need to revert back to 4.0 being default on the client.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
