Boot from iscsi fails with repeating message 'iscsistart: cannot make a connection to 192.168.1.10.3260 (-1,101)

Issue

  • Server is configured to boot from iscsi storage. It fails to boot with error:
no network link detected on eth2
Sending request for IP information through eth2
...
...
DHCPDISCOVER on eth2 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 ....
DHCPDISCOVER on eth2 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 ....
..repeated several times....
DHCPv4 eth2 - TIMED OUT.
Attaching to iSCSI storage
...
...
iscsistart: cannot make a connection to 192.168.1.10.3260 (-1,101)
iscsistart: cannot make a connection to 192.168.1.10.3260 (-1,101)
...
above message repeats indefinitely.
