File accessed over NFS mount returns Input/output error (-EIO).

Issue

1. File accessed over NFS mount - Input/output error.
2. nfs: sys_read sometimes returns -EIO

On NFS, read (2) can return unexpected -EIO.

The NFS client is RHEL 5.6. This client is running websphere 7 and websphere is running as the user "wasadm". During the time that the file is inaccessible from the application, the behaviour can be duplicated from the command line as the wasadm user (cat ). Though once tried as another user it fixes the problem.
