sftp and ssh connections failing intermittently with error ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

Issue

  • Intermittently we are unable to ssh to the server. The following error shows:

    # ssh server.example.com
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
