Error in creating the workers worker can't resolve tomcat address

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When starting Apache with mod_jk we are seeing the following error in the mod_jk logs:
[error] ajp_validate::jk_ajp_common.c (2526): worker node1 can't resolve tomcat address node1.example.com
[error] wc_create_worker::jk_worker.c (163): validate failed for node1
[error] validate::jk_lb_worker.c (1599): Failed creating worker node1
  • All tomcat instances failed, no more workers left for recovery. After the machine reboot getting following mod_jk error in Apache httpd logs.
[error] ajp_validate::jk_ajp_common.c (2748): worker node1 can't resolve tomcat address node1.example.com
[error] ajp_validate::jk_ajp_common.c (2748): worker node2 can't resolve tomcat address node2.example.com
[info] init_jk::mod_jk.c (3383): mod_jk/1.2.40 initialized
[info] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1579): All tomcat instances failed, no more workers left for recovery (attempt=0, retry=0)
