aide database is corrupt when `gzip_dbout` is set to `yes`

Issue

  • When gzip_dbout is set to yes, the database created by the aide --init command is corrupt. gunzip reports errors:
gzip: /var/lib/aide/aide.db.new.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error
gzip: /var/lib/aide/aide.db.new.gz: invalid compressed data--length error
  • The aide --check command also produces errors:
Not enough parameters in db:123261. Trying to continue.
Not enough parameters in db:123262. Trying to continue.
db_char2line():Error while reading database
  • The aide --init execution produces an error message:
Error on exit of prelink child process.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
