Need to disable Performance co-pilot (PCP) on RHEL

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

We need to disable and shutdown PCP as it has been flagged by our Health check scans and hence we need to disable it, as we do not need that information. We are already using many monitoring tool including performance monitoring tools, due to which we don't need PCP running on the servers.

This is one of the example of the Health Check Scan output. We see many of the logs in the /var/log/pcp, we changed permissions to what out health check script expected, but later PCP again created logs with it's own permissions. But since we are not using PCP, we think we don't need these logs.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7, 8 and 9
  • Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)
