The monitoring-plugin is not able to be loaded as dynamic plugin after OpenShift Container Platform 4.14 update

Issue

  • After the OpenShift 4.14 update, we see that the Observe menu entry is missing, because the monitoring dynamic plugin fails to install with the following error message.

    Failed to get a valid plugin manifest from /api/plugins/monitoring-plugin/
Call to https://console-openshift-console.apps.cluster.example.com/api/plugins/monitoring-plugin/plugin-manifest.json timed out after 60000ms.

  • The monitoring-plugin is failing to start as dynamic plugin after the update to OpenShift 4.14
