ODF taint is not tolerated by pods, causing ODF pods to go into a Pending state

Issue

  • OCS pods are stuck in pending state with the below error :

    $ oc describe pod
    -n openshift-storage

    Type     Reason            Age   From               Message
----     ------            ----  ----               -------
Warning  FailedScheduling  87s   default-scheduler  0/6 nodes are available: 3 node(s) had untolerated taint {node-role.kubernetes.io/master: }, 3 node(s) had untolerated taint {node.ocs.openshift.io/storage: }. preemption: 0/6 nodes are available: 6 Preemption is not helpful for scheduling
