gnome-control-center can not find settings panel as root (via su -)

Issue

  • Run gnome-control-panel with sudo, it can not find settings panels.

  • Executing gnome-control-center printers & OR gnome-control-center datetime in gnome-terminal the popup windows appear but without any information(empty) and data and with a below error message in gnome-terminal:

        ** (gnome-control-center:86514): WARNING **: 15:37:14.727: Could not find settings panel "printers"
    
        ** (gnome-control-center:19466): WARNING **: Could not find settings panel "datetime"
    

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • control-center-3.26.2-2.el7.x86_64
