Why is the journal printing its own messages at INFO level on the console?

Issue

  • From time to time, e.g. when the journal rotates its files, the following messages at INFO levels are printed on the console

    systemd-journald[XXX]: Vacuuming done, freed XXX of archived journals from /var/log/journal/<machine-id>.
