subscription-manager cannot read DMI information from the host system causing RHEL 9 to fail registering to Satellite server

Issue

  • While register the system to the Satellite server using an activation key with the auto-attach feature the wrong subscription will be attached
  • The subscription-manager command cannot read DMI information from the system and reports error messages to the /var/log/rhsm/rhsm.log file

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 as VMware guest
  • Guest uses UEFI BIOS
  • Secure Boot is enabled
