RHEL9.2: NFS infinite loop of COMMIT call and NFS4ERR_DELAY reply

Issue

  • We are using RHEL9.2 as NFS server, and the code is stuck, in an infinite loop.
  • We needed to perform one of the following actions to recover:
    • Reboot the NFS client, or
    • Restart the nfs-server.service on the NFS server

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9.2
  • RHEL providing NFS services
  • NFS
  • kernel version 5.14.0-239.el9 and later
