lvconvert fails with "Unable to allocate extents for mirror"

Issue

  • Converting a linear volume to mirrored vollume with lvconvert failes with the following error.

    lvconvert -m1 testvg/testlv1
    
    Insufficient suitable allocatable extents for logical volume : 4094 more required 
    
    Unable to allocate extents for mirror(s).
