Issue

  • How Do I set Approval process on ad-hob jobs.
  • We have bespoke instances of people needing to run ad-hoc commands (e.g. run a shell command against all or a subset of hosts in an inventory) however it's currently very difficult to put any rigour around this. Essentially we go to settings -> job settings -> allow the shell module to be used in ad-hoc jobs, then remove it once this specific work has been done.

Is there any way to have an approval (like a workflow approval) for ad-hoc jobs? If not, is there any way around this that's better than what we are doing now?

Resolution

  • Currently, no option is available to set the approval process on ad-hoc jobs.
