  • When running ifdown and ifup on an interface, the following messages are logged:
ipv6_wait_tentative: Waiting for interface DEVICE IPv6 address(es) to leave the 'tentative' state

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Legacy initscripts to manage network interfaces (not NetworkManager)
  • IPv6 with DAD (Duplicate Address Detection)
