"failed sending data" in JBoss EAP log

The following error repeats several times within a few seconds:
ERROR [org.jgroups.blocks.ConnectionTable] (Timer-4,10.1.2.3:7600) failed sending data to x.x.x.x:7600: java.net.SocketException: Socket closed
