Support for Java 8 in EAP

Issue

• When will Java / JDK 8 be supported?
• What versions are supported with the Java 8 runtime?
• Are there any patches available?
• We are currently running on EAP 6.0.1, and we are preparing to Upgrade. We want to get onto Java 8. We noticed that EAP 6.4 was released in April of this year. Is it recommended to upgrade to EAP 6.4, or should we go to EAP 6.3? If EAP 6.3 is suggested, then does it supports use of Java 8?
• We would like to know the compatibility between JBoss EAP 6.3.2 and JAVA 1.8. Is JBoss EAP 6.3.2 supported with JAVA 1.8. If no, which version of EAP supports JAVA 8?
• If we were to move to using JDK 1.8.x, would we be able to continue to use EAP 6.1.0?
• Java 1.8 support was added in JBOSS EAP 6.3.3. I am running 6.3.0 and wanted to know if there could be any issues doing so or what your recommendation would be?
• Is Java 8 supported with EAP 5?
