Issue

Following hyperV-related messages were logged in /var/log/messages:

hostname kernel: hv_utils: VSS: failed to communicate to the daemon: -14
hostname rsyslogd: action 'action 0' resumed (module 'builtin:omfwd') [v8.24.0-57.el7_9 try http://www.rsyslog.com/e/2359 ]
hostname rsyslogd: action 'action 0' resumed (module 'builtin:omfwd') [v8.24.0-57.el7_9 try http://www.rsyslog.com/e/2359 ]
hostname journal: Hyper-V VSS: VSS: op=CHECK HOT BACKUP
hostname journal: Hyper-V VSS: write failed; error: 22 Invalid argument

It seems like VSS: op=CHECK HOT BACKUP is output each day, but usually without the error afterwards.
