Issue
systemctl start kdump.servicehangs- kdump service takes a long time to start
Root Cause
- When restarting the kdump service via
systemctl (start|restart) kdump.service, all changes to the file/etc/kdump.confneed to be incorporated into the kdump initramfs. While the system is writing the new initramfs for kdump, the terminal will appear hung. This can take several minutes.
