Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • During the Rear backup on a NFS server (AIX), the process fails with this error:

    ERROR: Mount command 'mount -v -t nfs -o rw,noatime 192.168.1.1:/backup/tmp/rear.Nfahytjkyfg4GTH6/outputfs' failed.

  • With the argument -dD of the Rear command, you will have the debug output in the /var/log/rear/.log file:

    ++ eval mount -v -t nfs -o rw,noatime 192.168.1.1:/backup/tmp/rear.Nfahytjkyfg4GTH6/outputfs
    +++ mount -v -t nfs -o rw,noatime 192.168.1.1:/backup/tmp/rear.Nfahytjkyfg4GTH6/outputfs
    mount.nfs: mount(2): Remote I/O error
    mount.nfs: Remote I/O error
    mount.nfs: timeout set for Mon Apr  15 10:05:14 2021
    mount.nfs: trying text-based options 'vers=4,addr=191.168.1.1,clientaddr=192.168.1.10'
    ++ StopIfError 'Mount command '\''mount -v -t nfs -o rw,noatime  192.11681.1:/backup/tmp/rear.Nfahytjkyfg4GTH6/outputfs'\'' failed.'
