How can I filter certain messages from Apache httpd logs?

Issue

  • How can I filter unwanted messages from my Apache httpd logs?
  • Health check pings from our F5 loadbalancer make a  'GET / HTTP/1.0' request.  Access to this is blocked so it floods our error log with the message below.  How can we keep this from being logged?
    [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: /opt/jboss-ews-1.0/httpd/www/html/
