Udev rules adding wrong ethX after reboot

Issue

  • Manually editing /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules so that mac address XX:XX:XX:XX:88:f2 is eth0. After reboot the server adds another line with same mac address but this time it is eth2.
