systemd-udevd shows no such device error in reading initstate file

Issue

  • systemd-udevd shows the following message.

    systemd-udevd: could not read from '/sys/module/pcc_cpufreq/initstate': No such device
...
systemd-udevd: could not read from '/sys/module/acpi_cpufreq/initstate': No such device
...
systemd-udevd: could not read from '/sys/module/intel_cstate/initstate' : No such device.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, 9
  • KVM or VMware virtual machine guest
  • Azure (Microsoft Corporation Virtual Machine/Virtual Machine)
  • Amazon AWS
