Slow network performance on Red Hat Guest running on Hyper-V

Issue

  • I've got an RHEL 6.4 guest running on Hyper-V 2008R2. The network performance makes it unusable, maximum speed I get is 300KB/s.

Environment

  • Physical host (Windows 2008 R2) is a Dell R620 with a Broadcom BCM5720 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports card.
  • The Windows driver for the card is Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet V 15.4.0.17.
  • HyperV
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 guest
