abrt-action-save-package-data.conf manpage is incorrect

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • OpenGPGCheck = yes is default in abrt-action-save-package-data.conf
  • There seems to be a mismatch with what is provided in the abrt package as regards to the OpenGPGCheck option in the /etc/abrt/abrt-action-save-package-data.conf file and what the man page for abrt-action-save-package-data.conf (I've installed the latest abrt-2.0.8-15.el6.x86_64 rpm); the package contains:-
OpenGPGCheck = yes
  • But in the man page it says:-
       OpenGPGCheck = yes | no
           When set to yes, abrt will report crashes only in GPG signed
           packages. When set to no, it will report crashes also in unsigned
           packages. The default is no. The files containing trusted GPG keys
           which are used to verify the signatures are listed in the gpg_keys
           configuration file.
  • Personally I would have been happy with what the man page describes, i.e. OpenGPGCheck = no.
  • I only noticed this because I saw the following entries in /var/log/messages:-
Aug  8 04:40:11 hostname kernel: [74794.399920] cf-serverd[1203]: segfault at 10 ip 00007fe7e0cc5299 sp 00007fe7de79e590 error 4 in libpromises.so.1.0.0[7fe7e0c1f000+f8000]

  • Which is a bit annoying as I can't send the dump but will set it up for capture.
  • Please can we note in the man page that the default for OpenGPGCheck in ABRT 2 is Yes.
