Why network interface card (NIC) is not detected in the system ?

Issue

• We have onboard network cards in the system, but they do not appear in the OS to be configured.
• NIC disappeared after updating to kernel to newer version and now driver no longer recognizes the installed dual-port card.
• NIC does not appear in lspci output, Tried booting previous kernel but device / NIC still isn't recognized.
