RHEV 3.2 - Thinly provisioned guests are paused and not resumed due to AttributeError: 'Drive' object has no attribute 'format'

Issue

  • VMs are totally off and cannot start.
  • RHEV Manager is reporting vms are paused. These vms cannot be resumed.
  • Thinly provisioned guests are paused but not resumed.
  • Also unable to migrate guests to other hosts during this time.
  • Following traceback present in the /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log of a host:

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.2
  • VDSM upgraded from 4.9-113.4.el6_3 to 4.10.2-22.0 without a reboot.
  • vdsmd service restarted without a reboot.
