systemd-logind process is taking up to 100% of CPU

Issue

  • A few processes are taking CPU upto 100%, including systemd-logind
  • There are lots of cores created under /var/spool/abrt
  • systemctl does not work properly
  • Created coredump shows the following trace:
Core was generated by `/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-logind'.
Program terminated with signal 6, Aborted.
